Saluting the Skies, Serving the Soil

Patna: 8 October 2025 :: Today, as the nation proudly celebrates the 93rd Anniversary of the Indian Air Force, my heart swells with immense pride and gratitude. It is not merely a day of remembrance, but a moment of deep personal connection — for I once had the honour of wearing that revered uniform, being a part of this formidable and disciplined force that guards our skies and inspires our spirits.

The Air Force has been more than a career — it has been a way of life, a journey of learning, courage, and service. My years in the IAF are etched with countless memories — from the tense days of the Kargil War to the intense passive exercises, from active missions to the quieter responsibilities of ensuring readiness even in the most passive hours.
Each experience was a chapter of duty, sacrifice, and pride.

I still recall the testing times of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the world seemed to pause. Offices were shut, roads were empty, and uncertainty gripped every heart. Yet, the Air Force stood tall, never ceasing its mission of service. In those trying days, I was blessed with the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of others — a reminder that true service knows no boundaries or conditions.

Throughout my journey, I have held many values and ideals, but it was the Indian Air Force that refined them, giving them clarity and direction. The discipline, punctuality, leadership, and compassion I live by today are gifts of that training. Even my lifestyle — grounded yet aspiring — has been shaped by the ethos of the Force.

The medals and laurels I received from the IAF hold great significance, yet they pale in comparison to the human connections that my service gave me. Bonds built on respect, camaraderie, and shared purpose — these are the true decorations that adorn a soldier’s heart.

The Indian Air Force teaches us to live for the motherland, to find meaning in selfless service. And as I look back today, I bow in reverence to every individual who walked with me in this remarkable journey — comrades, mentors, and the countless citizens whose trust and affection made every sacrifice worthwhile.

Life, I believe, is another name for service — service to one’s people and one’s soil. Today, as I continue this journey beyond the skies, my mission remains the same: to serve. This time, through the path of development — by dedicating myself to the progress of my janmabhoomi, Bihar.

Let us come together, hand in hand, to make Bihar rise to such heights where being a Bihari becomes a badge of honour. For the strength of a nation lies not just in its Air Force, but in the hearts of its people who choose to serve — in uniform or beyond.

Jai Hind! Long Live the Indian Air Force! Long Live Bihar!
