Patna: 14 September 2023 :: Minister for IT, Govt of Bihar, Md Israil Mansuri has dedicated to the nation the newly built Class 1000 cleanroom at Incubation Centre IIT Patna at IIT Patna campus at Bihta on Wednesday 13th Sep 2023 at 4 pm. The facility was built with financial assistance from Dept of IT, Govt of Bihar and is the first to focus on supporting entrepreneurs in this area.
“The Department of IT, Govt of Bihar is committed to provide vital thrust to the electronic research and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the state, and this facility is going to be a major milestone in that effort” said the minister addressing the audience.
The event had the esteemed presence of Shri Arvind Kumar Choudhary ITS, Special Secretary, Dept of IT, Govt of Bihar, Prof Trilok Nath Singh, Director IIT Patna, Dr Yatendra Kumar Singh, Secretary, Dr Sudhir Kumar, Joint Secretary Incubation Centre IIT Patna and representatives from partner organisations such as AIIMS Patna, NIT Patna, IGIMS, ESIC Medical College, DMI, CIMP, NIELIT and BIA.
A class 1000 cleanroom (also known as ISO 6 clean room) utilizes HEPA filtration systems to maintain air cleanliness levels of a maximum of 1,000 particles of more than 0.5 micron per cubic meter of inside air. One micron is 0.001 millimeter. Such cleanliness levels are required to fabricate electronic sensors.
Clean room at Incubation Centre will assist startups and researchers in prototyping of micro electro mechanical devices such as sensors. The facility has advanced machinery such as a mask aligner, thin film deposition machines such as E-beam and Thermal evaporator and RF DC Sputtering.
