Patna, November 18, 2025 — Megha Kumari, Joint Environment & Discipline Secretary and an active NSS leader at Patna Women’s College, Patna University, has brought laurels to her institution by representing Bihar with excellence at the Pre -Republic Day (Pre -R.D.) Camp, Central Zone, held at ITM University, Gwalior from 5th to 14th November 2025.
The prestigious ten-day camp, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, brought together distinguished student volunteers from across the Central Zone for advanced training in leadership, discipline, cultural heritage, personality development, and nation- building activities. Selection for the camp itself is considered a mark of exceptional merit within the National Service Scheme (NSS).
During the camp, Megha Kumari showcased remarkable talent and versatility. Representing Team Bihar, she performed a cultural act portraying the legendary folk singer Sharda Sinha, took part in the traditional Jhizhiya group dance, and also contributed as an anchor, earning appreciation for her confidence and stage presence.
Reflecting on her experience, Megha said, “The Pre-R.D. Camp was an unforgettable journey of learning and discipline. It sharpened my leadership abilities, strengthened my respect for India’s rich folk traditions, and reaffirmed my dedication to serving society through NSS.”
Her achievement has been widely applauded within the Patna Women’s College fraternity. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Namata Kumari, Registrar Dr. Shalini, Dean, Student Welfare Dr. Anil Kumar, NSS Programme Coordinator Dr. Suheli Mehta, Principal Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., and Programme Officers Jyoti Chandra and Brahmanand congratulated Megha on her success.
Former Programme Officers Dr. Shahla Rehana and Dr. Amrita, along with Ex-General Secretary (RDIAN) Moon Kumari, also extended their best wishes, calling Megha’s achievement an inspiration for all NSS volunteers of the college.
