Patna: Bihar Diwas will be celebrated this year at the Central University of Karnataka (CUK) in Kalaburagi, marking a cultural initiative by students from Bihar studying at the institution. The event is scheduled for March 23, 2026.
The celebration will feature a variety of activities, including live performances, visual art presentations, quiz competitions, and poetry sessions. The programme, to be organised on the university campus, will also showcase traditional Mithila art and authentic Bihari cuisine.
Bihar Diwas is observed annually to commemorate the foundation day of the state. This year, students from Bihar at CUK have taken the initiative to extend the celebration beyond the state, aiming to highlight Bihar’s rich cultural heritage among a diverse student community.
Prof. Pramod Kumar of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at CUK said the event is designed to introduce students from different parts of the country to the traditions and lifestyle of Bihar. “It will help them understand the cultural richness of the state,” he said.
Dr. P. Kumar Mangalam, Assistant Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and the event coordinator, noted that the celebration would also serve as a platform for cultural exchange among students from various states.
Several individuals, including Dr. Jayadevi Jangama shetty from the Department of Music, along with Ragini Rajbhar and Pankaj Jha, are actively involved in organizing the event and ensuring its success.
