Patna, 15 August 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit on 15th August 2025. The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Prof. T. N. Singh, Director of IIT Patna, at the main auditorium building, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem. A ceremonial parade inspection by the Director, with a disciplined and impressive march by the security personnel, marked the formal beginning of the event.
The main function was held in the institute’s auditorium, where Prof. T. N. Singh addressed the gathering and extended his heartfelt wishes on the occasion. In his speech, he highlighted the vital role of the faculty, staff, and students of IIT Patna in contributing to nation-building, in line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. In the coming days, enhanced facilities and advanced infrastructure will be developed for faculty, researchers, students and staff.
The celebration featured a vibrant cultural program organized by the students of IIT Patna. The performances included a solo patriotic song, an energetic group dance, evocative poetry recitations, and a drama based on the Kakori conspiracy, which captivated the audience and added a sense of historical reverence to the occasion.
The Director also felicitated the winners of the Rangoli and Poetry competitions held as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Registrar, Prof. A. K. Thakur, followed by the distribution of sweets to all attendees, fostering a spirit of unity, national pride, and community among the IIT Patna fraternity.
