IIT Patna: Delegation of 45 students from Bihar depart for NIT Tiruchirappalli under Yuva Sangam 2

Patna, 6th May 2023: A delegation of 45 students of diverse higher education institutions from Bihar departed for National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli today as a part of the second phase of the government’s ambitious cultural and educational endeavour ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Yuva Sangam’ programme. On the auspicious day of Buddha Purnima, Director IIT Patna in the presence of Associate Dean-Student Affairs, Nodal Officer Prof. Om Prakash, Dean-Faculty, A Dean- Rand D, A Dean- Resource flagged off the students of Bihar from the campus.

During the flag off ceremony held in IIT Patna , Prof T N Singh, Director, IIT Patna asked the students to make a good use of this opportunity to develop their minds and learn new things from Tamil Nadu.

As cheif guest of the flag off event at Patna Jn, the former DGP of Bihar Abhayanad expressed his best wishes to the students on their trip to Tamilnadu. He also shared his experience of such educational trip in a students’life . Also he said that it enhances the mindset and thought process of students.

Nodal Officer Prof. Om Prakash mentioned how difficult it was to select 45 participants from 2023 applications. During the visit, the students will be interacting with the Governor of Tamil Nadu, who is from Bihar. This will be followed by interaction with artists, prominent entrepreneurs, sportspersons, singers, musicians and a meeting with Padma S. Damodaran, Social Worker, NGO Gramalaya. The students will also visit the 5th Century historical place at Tiruchirappalli, besides getting a close exposure to the local culture, shopping. The other places of visit include Mahabalipuram 725 AD UNESCO World Heritage Site, Interactions with Director, CEEYES Engineering Industries; MD, Livia Polymer Products, TN; BaratX Devarajan, Olympian, Arjuna Awardee (Boxing).
The team will be in Tamil Nadu till 14 May 2023. The students are accompanied by faculty and staff from IIT Patna.

On this occasion institute’s PR representative Kripa Shankar Singh , sports coordinator Dr Karunesh Kumar was also there.

The idea of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat was conceptualized and structured by the PM Narendra Modi to create a cultural connect between the various states of India. This visit will introduce the students of Bihar to the state of Tamil Nadu and its heritage. It is going to be a fulfilling educational trip for them.
