Patna: 11th July 2025, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna successfully organized a “Campus Immersion cum Orientation Program” on its campus. This event was conducted as part of the first phase of the hybrid admission program for newly admitted students.

The program was graced by Prof. T. N. Singh, Director of IIT Patna, as the Chief Guest. He was joined on stage by several distinguished dignitaries including Prof. A. K. Thakur (Dean, Administration), Dr. N. K. Tomar (ADean, Resources), Dr. Anoop Keshari (ADean, R&D), Dr. Rajeev Mishra (Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering) and Mr. Neeraj Rajhans (Chairman, M.E.S).

The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. A large number of students and their parents/guardians were present on this occasion. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed with traditional shawls and floral bouquets by Mr. Neeraj Rajhans.

Dr. N. K. Tomar, ADean of Resources, presented detailed information about the various academic programs offered by the institute, which include:
• 5-Year Integrated BBA-MBA Program
• 5-Year BS-MS (AICS/CSDA)
• 4-Year BS (AICS/CSDA)
• 3-Year B.Sc. (Hons.) (AICS/CSDA)
• 3-Year BBA Program

Prof. A. K. Thakur also addressed the students, encouraging them to embrace the academic culture and values of the institution.

In his inspirational address, Chief Guest Prof. T. N. Singh stated:

“We all have the right to move forward in life, to improve ourselves, and to express our thoughts freely. A difference of just one mark or one percent does not define a person’s true capability. These figures only reflect a particular day’s performance — not your hard work, mindset, or true potential.
“Many times, a person may not achieve their goal — not due to a lack of ability, but due to circumstances, mental state, or flaws in the system. If a student falls short by just 1.01%, it does not mean they are weak.”
“Don’t let others write your story — let your hard work, dedication, and confidence define who you are. No matter how loud the noise around you is, be the lion who starts a new journey with clarity, courage, and confidence.

The primary objective of the program was not only to acquaint the students with the academic and institutional environment but also to motivate them to recognize their inner strengths and begin their academic journey with confidence.

Currently, the second phase of the hybrid admission program at IIT Patna is in progress. Eligible students are encouraged to contact the IIT Patna Admission Cell for further details. The last date to apply is 14th July 2025.
